Lexington Two’s Starting Together … Arriving Ready (STAR) Family Partnership has been endorsed as a Blue Ribbon Affiliate, making it one of the top-performing home visiting affiliates within the Parents as Teachers’ international network.
Lexington Two’s STAR program partners with Lexington County First Steps to strengthen families and empower parents as their children's first and most important teachers. The district program has a staff of nationally certified Parents as Teachers parent educators who serve families with children prenatal through school entry, to ensure a strong start in life and greater success in school.
The endorsement recognizes Lexington Two as a Parents as Teachers affiliate that is achieving fidelity to the Parents as Teachers model and facilitating continuous quality improvement. Parents as Teachers’ rigorous endorsement process demonstrates Lexington Two’s accountability and credibility to the community, its funders, elected officials, and the partner organizations with which they work. Programs that earn the Quality Endorsement are recognized by the Parents as Teachers National Center as exemplary Blue Ribbon Affiliates, delivering high-quality services to children and families.
