Superintendent's Message

May 12, 2025

Dear Lexington Two Families and Staff:

Moments. This time of year is full of them. I’m not talking about the million-things-to-do-every-moment-of-every-day moments, though there are certainly plenty of those. I’m talking about the special moments.

The smile of your kindergartener getting promoted to first grade. A quick wave from your elementary student to you in the audience, as you watch the school year’s final performance. Watching your athlete play in the final game of a school career. Watching your senior leave for prom, or pulling out the graduation cap and gown to try on.

For school families and staff, the end of the year is packed with these moments, yet sometimes in the rush to stay on schedule to complete the urgent, we can miss out on the most important: Celebrating this time together. For parents, it’s the opportunity to celebrate another milestone and achievement in their child’s life. For teachers and staff, it’s the opportunity to celebrate that your life’s work made a difference in a student’s journey, in helping them to dream and achieve. As tempting as it is some days to get everything crossed off a to-do list, give yourself the gift of being in the moment and taking it all in, because it passes quickly.

I love this time of the year! I’m excited for the next chapters for our students, whether that’s moving up to a new grade level or moving out for college and career. Whatever it is, here’s to a strong and memorable finish to the 2024-2025 school year.
